We are a New Zealand company with a team of both vapers and non-vapers alike who are passionate about providing a quality smoking cessation tool to limit the damage smoking cigarettes does to people. alt. New Zealand was founded following over 5 years of experience in the New Zealand vaping industry through the retail chain VAPO.
Despite the overwhelming success of vaping products, New Zealand still has a significant smoking population - we set out to design a product to change the lives of more kiwi smokers.
We worked closely with our customers to identify ways to overcome some of the difficulties with existing vaping products.
Through local and international research, we recognised the need for New Zealand smokers to have better access to products, a product that is simple to use and a product that provides satisfaction similar to a cigarette. And most importantly, a product from a New Zealand company, not manufactured by a big tobacco company that makes the same combustible cigarettes kiwis are trying to switch from.
We have heard countless success stories from our customers who have successfully transitioned from smoking to vaping thanks to alt.
As part of our mission to provide a better alternative, we knew we needed to go further than anyone else. So in 2019, we proudly launched the first pod vape recycling program in New Zealand. Through this collaboration with TerraCycle, we created VapeCycle with huge success. This programme means all alt. Pods and devices, including alt. Nu disposables, can be made into new recycled products - for free!

alt.Research is the research and development arm of our company. We utilise a network of over 100 scientists through our collaboration with Myriad Pharmaceuticals and our research and development partners.
alt.Research uses established science, our R&D partners and our own clinical research to develop the highest-grade products. Our products are produced under stringent chemical, emissions and electrical testing protocols to ensure they meet or surpass the highest international e-liquid, electrical and manufacturing standards.
